Michel Faber, born in The Hague in 1960, moved with his family to Australia at the age of seven, growing up on the outskirts of Melbourne. He studied at the University of Melbourne, majoring in languages, philosophy, rhetoric, and English. Subsequently, he worked in various fields before training as a nurse. In 1993, he emigrated to Scotland and settled near Inverness. Faber is known for his diverse literary works, including novels and short stories.
